YOU'VE BEEN LIED ABOUT LYING:
For this school project, I designed a magazine article layout based on a feature discussing the art of lying and how to detect deception. The layout uses strategic yellow accents to guide the reader’s eye and reinforce key moments within the narrative. To visually express the theme of deception, I incorporated close-up portrait photography, focusing on the eyes as a metaphor for perception and hidden truth. The article’s title stretches across the spread in bold, large-scale typography, creating a dynamic visual entry point and adding movement across the layout. While maintaining a clean and consistent grid system, I integrated pull quotes and callouts to highlight important insights and improve readability. This design approach resulted in a layout that is both visually engaging and conceptually aligned with the article’s theme—inviting the audience to explore the nuances of deception through impactful imagery and intentional visual hierarchy.
